Northeast Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy
N E F A M F T

The Northeast Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (NEFAMFT) is a professional organization representing local marriage and family therapists. NEFAMFT provides education, supervision, and advocacy at the local level. NEFAMFT is a division of the Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (FAMFT) and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) consisting of 23,000 members in the United States, Canada and abroad. The Association leads the way to increasing understanding, research and education in the field of marriage and family therapy and ensures that public needs are met by well trained practitioners.
Founded in 1986, NEFAMFT has offered membership
to local AAMFT members (Clinical Members) and other mental health professionals
interested in marriage and family therapy (Guest Affiliates) for over 16
years.
NEFAMFT greatly encourages member participation, discussion, networking and professional
involvement.

2006-2008 Board/Executive Committee: |
| - Trainings included Brief Strategic Family Therapy, working with families of the deaf or blind, guided imagery, family therapy with adolescents, using art therapy in families, domestic violence, medical errors training for mental health professionals, bio-cultural competency in families and reducing anxiety in pre-divorce planning. - In conjunction with FAMFT, free therapy sessions were offered to families in the community affected by the war. - Received FAMFT Chapter of the Year Award for 2002. |
